I've tested a various number of kernels(x86) 2.6.36-1 pae, 2.6.35-23 pae and
2.6.35-22 amd64 all have the same problem the notebook runs stable for a
while(and the time that it runs stable has increased in newer kernels) and then
freezes only a hard reboot can be done to recover, it doesn't respond to SysRq
either. The crash was due to a call trace in amd64 kernel I'll try to append
more information on this bug report. My current internet connection takes about
5hrs to download a CD image, I'll try as time permits.
But I guess that the problems are because of the ACPI on this notebook is not
correctly supported in the Linux kernel(well this is a guess, but I'm quite
sure)
