I'm now running Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop 64bit, and I just experienced this problem again today.
Here's how to reproduce the problem: Turn on visual effects: System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects > Extra > Close Install freemind: sudo apt-get install freemind Launch Freemind: Applications > Office > Freemind Freemind will launch so high on the screen that you will now be able to grab the title bar and pull it down. In order to get it down lower, you have to do this: System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects > None > Close Other information: I'm using dual monitors, and the last time I had Freemind open, I had it place at the top of the 2nd monitor. Could it be, that, upon launch, freemind is remember its vertical placement on that 2nd monitor, and trying to do that same placement on the primary monitor (ignoring the fact that the gnome-panel will hide its title bar at that placement)? I'm not sure, just thought that might be helpful info. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/575411 Title: Freemind's Window Launches Too High (compiz conflict) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
