i also have this problem, and from my reading, many others do too. it seems that it is affecting users with ATI video adapters. again, 10.04 works fine, but a fresh install of 10.10 is crippled by a screen flicker every few seconds. this is 32bit 10.10 on celeron 1.2gig with agp Radeon X1300
