I have a bug which I *think* is the same as this. I have an amd64 Maverick system running yelp 2.30.1-0ubuntu1, and when I run yelp I get the following to stderr:
(yelp:4672): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_tool_button_new: assertion `icon_widget == NULL || GTK_IS_MISC (icon_widget)' failed (yelp:4672): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance (yelp:4672): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed (yelp:4672): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_toolbar_insert: assertion `GTK_IS_TOOL_ITEM (item)' failed (yelp:4672): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_tool_button_new: assertion `icon_widget == NULL || GTK_IS_MISC (icon_widget)' failed (yelp:4672): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: invalid (NULL) pointer instance (yelp:4672): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: g_signal_connect_data: assertion `G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed (yelp:4672): Gtk-CRITICAL **: IA__gtk_toolbar_insert: assertion `GTK_IS_TOOL_ITEM (item)' failed Segmentation fault A window flashes momentarily on the screen. I created a backtrace with the command strace yelp &> yelp.strace and I am attaching that file. If that is satisfactory (and this is really the same bug), then I will submit the trace upstream at https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=633442. However, I did not follow the instructions at http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for getting the debug symbols. I would be pleased to do that, if it is necessary in this case. Please advise. ** Attachment added: "possibly unsatisfactory backtrace" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/yelp/+bug/668175/+attachment/1756703/+files/yelp.strace ** Tags added: amd64 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/668175 Title: yelp crashed with Gtk-Critical in yelp:3398 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
