Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: empathy

Open a group chat from a GTalk account (I haven't tried this with any other
type of accounts) and maximise the group chat window.
Type a long line of text on the text area. The window will soon begin to jump
back and forth with every character typed.
Now unmaximise the window, then keep on typing. You will notice that the window
will become wider and wider with every character typed.

None of this should happen, and none of it happens on normal chat
windows.
