@Gunnar, I've just come across this bug - and I would like to suggest
you raise a bug with Debian with the same contents. This package hasn't
yet been maintained outside of Debian, and it would be unfortunate to
diverge on something like this.
You can use the 'reportbug' utility to do this. Please update the bug
report with progress, or any issues you encounter.
