If files are moved to the Missing Files page, their events and tags
should be preserved inside Shotwell. I attempted to reproduce this but
couldn't.
How is the hard drive mounted (USB, network, etc.)? Is the hard drive
selected as your library directory (Edit -> Preferences)? Or are you
referring to the hard drive via a symlink on your local filesystem?
