Hi there,

Installing Pulse Audio Volume Control eliminates the sound problem. You just 
need to run PAVC when you log in and keep it open for the duration of your 
session. 
Unfortunately I'm not sure about the heat issue... I've read a number of 
reviews which say that the x100e gets quite hot.
