I believe they moved from using the standard Xfree driver to a specific
Synaptics driver that although has more features also has some
"issues". I have noticed that in the newer releases this is working
much better, but I wouldn't call it fixed. Until then I am marking this
bug as a duplicate of bug #34501. Thanks for the bug report.
