I would like to add , it crashes for me if i redo after undo in the 4th step as
described by you.

1. Add a video clip to the timeline
2. Select the video clip on the timeline (if it is not already selected)
3. Press Delete to remove video clip from timeline
4. Edit > Undo to restore video clip to timeline
+ 5. Edit > Redo
--> PiTiVi crashes
