Binary package hint: grub-installer
Installing Ubuntu 7.04 beta from the Live CD goes fine until the last
step: I get a grub-installer error message "Executing 'grub-install
(hd0)' failed (This is a fatal error)"
System is amd64 and I get the same error with the 32-bit and 64-bit
versions of Ubuntu. I have a SATA harddrive (/dev/sda) and use existing
ext3 partitions for Ubuntu for the manual partitioning.
I did look at the other bug reports regarding grub-install, but I did
not encounter the problem I have.
No system.log or /var/log/messages handy, I can provide them if
necessary (i.e, redo the installation and save the log files this
time...)
