Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-media
A volume indicator pop-up (see screenshot) appears randomly and starts
consuming additional cpu cycles as the cooling fan starts to turn faster.
Also it sort of freezes the desktop, which means I cannot select any menu
options or use the mouse / keyboard in open windows.
It sort of freezes because after some tries I am able to click on windows and
restart / log-off (in order to get out of the freeze).
I use two soundcards. One internal and a USB soundcard. Maybe that has
something to do with it. After removing the USB soundcard this behavior
does not seem to occur.
