Same issue here. I have a Sony Vaio VPCEB3C5E, touchpad is recognized as
a PS/2 mouse.

Basic movement and vertical scrolling work, but nothing else. The
behavior of the trackpad is erratic, sometimes it becomes very difficult
to control it (or becomes completely wild).

I should also point out that I had major problems with the trackpad
during installation. The trackpad wouldn't be recognized at all. I had
to add the boot option i8042.nopnp in order to be able to use the
trackpad at all.

Any status update about this bug would be very much appreciated.
