Your report shows that you installed Ubuntu 10.04 LTS, which uses grub2
by default, but that you have subsequently removed it in favor of grub1
without configuring it.  You must have a configured bootloader on your
system for kernel updates to apply properly.  Either you should
configure the grub1 package by hand, or you should reinstall grub2 by
running the following command from a terminal:

  sudo apt-get install grub-pc
