I see two options here: 1) connman is not restarted, instead user is required to reboot 2) connman is restarted during upgrade, user does not need to reboot
Option 1 is safe but slow, reboot always takes time and then you have to restart all the applications etc which is extremely annoying. Option 2 is faster but there's no way for the user to cancel the network disconnection if she so desires. For example, she might have an ongoing voip call or similar while doing the upgrade. I personally find this option less annoying and would prefer it myself, but I'm not sure this is still the best option for all the users. Currently, if you have lots of packages to upgrade, the connman restart takes way too long. connman is stopped during early phases and started again during end of the upgrade process. We could make it faster by just restarting connman after upgrade and stopping it doing upgrade and that would make option 2 even more preferable.
