I have experienced something very similar with HP 5 Si Mx PS printers. There are several other similar Cups related bugs reported over different versions of Ubuntu that seem to resolve into Cups misidentifying post script or some other printer data stream as something else - there is often a postscript signature at the start of the garbage that prints out. In my experience this problem is not universal - some applications print fine and others always print garbage - reams of it. Nor is it specific to the current release of ubuntu or Cups - the problem comes and goes (or moves to a different application) as Cups or Ubuntu are updated.
It would be really really nice if someone could chase this down and kill it permanently. I would be happy to provide whatever assistance I can. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/683549 Title: Lots of blank pages printed when using foomatic postscript driver with Canon ImageRunner 3570 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
