ack! same problem here. Don't know if it's useful, but here's output
from lspci -v for the device on my system:
80:01.0 Audio device: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT1708/A [Azalia HDAC] (VIA High
Definition Audio Controller) (rev 10)
Subsystem: Micro-Star International Co., Ltd. Device 7253
Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 17
Memory at fd00000000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K]
Capabilities: <access denied>
Kernel driver in use: HDA Intel
Kernel modules: snd-hda-intel
Since I have no sound on the system, this is a pretty big problem. Hope
it gets some more attention so it can get fixed:-)
