One other strange thing I noticed. If I test the keypad by typing numbers into the login prompt I see the expected numbers echo on the display. But my login still fails because of the numbers in my password. On the second attempt to login, if I test the keypad by typing numbers into the login prompt, I see garbage echoed on the screen. Like "[4~" appears for the number 1.
