Public bug reported:
With latest 7.04 beta updates (linux-generic 2.6.20.14.12), attempting
to start rtl8180 wireless with 104-bit hex WEP key hangs (at 28% in the
NetworkManager applet). This has been the case since the original 7.04
beta CD (I'm a newcomer, so I don't know if it worked with 6.10; I had
it working OK with another distribution in the past).
The card is detected as follows during boot:

Attempting to connect with NetworkManager produces repeating "Setting SW
wep key" lines, never getting any further. E.g.:
