Public bug reported:

My well funtionctiong 10.04 on AMD64 with real-time kernel no longer
boots.

It starts the boot sequence, and seems ok. I get the GRUB pause, it indicates a
generic kernel, not an rt kernel, but I'm not sure if that was always the case.
The screen goes black, then in relatively small grapchic font:

"init: cryptdisks-enalbe main process (880) killed by TERM signal"

It stays like that unless I hit an arrow key, then I get a scrolling
screen of udev warnings about future obsolete something...

Then, I get a small font graphic font about 1/3 of the way down the
screen

Ubuntu 10.04
. . . .

The four dots cycle in color to show "progress".

Then the sceen goes into standby, after about 5-10 minutes.

If I hit an arrow key, it wakes up with the udev warnings, again...

What could this possibly be?

And, how do I get my system back?

ps. I was at the big TEDx conference last week and was surprised to hear
several people talking about the loss of quality in the recent Ubuntu releases.
I was very surprised, since I am a strong Ubuntu supporter. However, I myself
have not been very impressed with the 10.04 on my AMD64:
- ugly boot-up sequence,
- flashy login, but with no added value,
- and now faliure to boot...

I am more than happy to help in anyway I can. I am a computer scientist,
but Artificial Intelligence, not OS specialist..

Thanks,
Bob.
