For sure! I was using Ubuntu at my work. After upgrade it was completely broke. I've completely removed Ubuntu and installed FreeBSD, because I can't wait for solution or follow the workarounds which will break my systems even more. If I were the reporter, for sure after one year I would remove Ubuntu from my favourite systems, if that bug couldn't be fixed.
If the reporter doesn't reply, doesn't mean you can simply close it as "Won't Fix" because of laziness.
