Public bug reported:

in the ubuntu bash shell, the test function (test -n STRING) will always return
zero, no matter if the String is empty or not
in the manual of test (man test) test -n is supposed to "the length of STRING
is nonzero", but it is not functioning, really
however test -z "the length of STRING is zero" is working well

systems proved affected (tested) : 9.10,10.10

note : ubuntu bash also does not support the modern ways of shell
programming, this is really disappointing for any server sys admin.

thanks
