Same here on Intel 82G33/G31 on a dual screen setup (2 x 1440x900). Both compiz and kwin are likely not able to display larger resolutions than 2048x2048 with OpenGL. -> Crash -> Really annoying. A workaround to have some form of compositing enabled (transparency in widgets etc) is to use metacity as default window-manager and enable compositing (default is disabled) by executing :
"gconftool-2 -s '/apps/metacity/general/compositing_manager' --type bool true" A dual screen / large resolution screen setup will then work and you have nice transparent widgets. Not perfect, but workable for now... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/559883 Title: lucid X crashes with dual head configuration when opengl is enabled with intel GM945 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
