The listing shows an asseration failure in dpkg:
$ sudo dpkg --configure -a
dpkg: ../../src/packages.c:221: process_queue: Assertion `dependtry <= 4' 
failed.

So lets reassign it to dpkg, maybe they have a clue…
(APT at least is doomed to fail if dpkg doesn't work for obvious reasons)
