Public bug reported: Binary package hint: debian-installer
On certain hardware combinations the alternate installer hangs at 73% when updating the list of available packages. I tried to unplug the network cable, but it didn't change a thing. This happened on two computers with PATA disk and PATA CD/DVD. The installer works fine on another computer with SATA disk and SATA DVD. This makes no sense as alternate installer is meant for weaker/older systems that have only PATA components. The installer has been useless for 2 years now! http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1108652 http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1593454 ** Affects: debian-installer (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/691480 Title: Alternate installer gets stuck at 73% -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
