which guided to this bug filing.
Sound works in kmplayer
Result of changes in - Configure KMplayer -> General -> Output -> Sound
1. Was on auto by default: Sound works
2. OSS: works
3. SDL: patchy sound, high cpu usage
4. ALSA: NO SOUND
5. ARTS: no sound
6. OPENAL: no sound NO VIDEO
7. Enlightened:: NO
8. ALSA v0.5: NO
9 ALSA v 0.9: NO
10 Back-end defaults: NO
11 Pulseaudio: No sound - high CPU
Setup:
Maverick 10.10
Kernel - 2.6.35-23, applied TTY patch and edited config to enable OSS and OSS
under ALSA.
ASUS M2n-E SLI motherboard
AMD Athlon X2 4000+
CMedia CM6501 sound system - on board sound device that shows up under lsusb,
but not in lspci
$lspci shows no sound device
$lsusb shows this:
