Not a control-center bug, whatever the application do should not impact on the computer, unassigning, maybe somebody will have an idea an work on it, though the bug rate on launchpad is crazy at the moment and it's likely nobody will work on it any time soon. Do you have any indication to /var/log/messages,syslog,Xorg.0.log?
