Yes, foloow this guide: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingACPI Is outdated for the part regarding grub, but in a live session you can easily workaround it pressing any key at the first screen, press F6 and select no apic ecc.., or if you want to test one off the suggestion of the guide, pressF6 then Esc delete quiet and splash in the linux line and add the suggested command, press enter two times.
