Binary package hint: vim
Vim is my main text editor and one of it's features which I consider a
must-have is the syntax highlighing. Unfortunately it seems that
Ubuntu's vim package does not enable syntax highlighting in vim by
default. To make matters worse, it seems that in order to have vim with
syntax highlighting the user's only option is to compile it's own.
It would be great if Ubuntu's vim package made syntax highlighting
possible and didn't forced the users to compile it's own custom install.
