This system was updated from edgy to feisty with a day-by-day apt-get
dist-upgrade...
DESCRIPTION

Neither suspend or hibernate works correctly.
In the first case, HD seems effectively spinned down but fan comes quickly to
the highest speed available and a reset is needed
to get the laptop back to work.
The latter simply doesn't "resume" :(
