Does this mean that it's a bug in the ACPI system of the kernel? Is it possible for me to put a switch in the /etc/default/grub file to turn this feature off, or would I have to compile a new kernel? I'm not crazy about compiling a custom kernel, but if that's what it takes...
What are the odds that this "feature" is damaging my hardware?
