Public bug reported:
Firstly, I'm new to Ubuntu so apologies in advance is this should be a
question rather than bug, but I have been searching for nearly two days
now and can't find a solution documented anywhere.
I'm running a newly installed version of 10.10, loaded successfully from
the optical drive off CD.
Any movie DVD I load simply gets automatically ejected. The drives spins
up, clicks a few times, and ejects. I don't even get the opportunity to
load Totem or similar. Music CDs and the boot CD both work okay.
I have loaded all of the required 32 bit codecs and the unrestricted
extras to no avail. DVD drive is recognised by the system (see below).
System test report attached.
