As someone who is also having this problem, I can confirm that the problem is definitely not just a display issue.
Two cases: 1) Play an audio file and suspend whilst playing. On resume, no audio will be heard. 2) Try to ssh into the machine after resume. The machine will not be found on the network. I haven't been able to get anything useful from the logs that I can see on my machine.
