I'm going to go ahead and close this bug. The first reason is the
original bug it's not an Ubuntu bug as we just use the Debian packaging.
Secondly, there really isn't an actionable bug that I can see. Generally
speaking, Debian/Ubuntu packages are not supposed to have added value
outside of the convenience of having the program packaged up in an easy
to install/upgrade/remove form that can be managed via the distro's
tools.

We are not upstream authors, merely package maintainers. We try to stick
as close to the Debian packages as possible but sometimes we run into
problems because of our differing release schedules. If you have other
specific bugs please open up a new bug report for each one.
