This issue seems to be more an issue where the client that sends the meeting request is using the incorrect timezone.
I noticed that this was mostly happening when one specific colleague of mine invited me to meetings, but it never happened when anyone else invited me to meetings. It turns out that my colleague was using Blackberry mobile phone, which seemed to be the root cause of the issue.
