Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: unity
Natty Alpha 1 with all updates applied. Unity 3.2.8-0ubuntu1
Using Guake, a terminal emulator, which 'slides' down from the top of the
screen when invoked with an F key and 'slides' back up out of the screen when
no longer required.
When using Unity, with Guake visible, Guake's right edge is off the right hand
side of the screen which means some of the right hand screen area and, more
importantly, the right hand scrollbar is not accessible.
It appears Guake may be using the desktop size as its width but not
taking into account that Unity is taking up some pixels on the left hand
side for its sidebar, which means Guake's right edge is outside the
visible screen area. Switching workspaces isn't a viable workaround as
Guake repeats its behaviour on all workspaces.
Expected behaviour: Guake's right hand screen edge should be visible and
accessible on the right hand side of the screen.
To reproduce:
Start Guake while using Unity. Use relevant F key to invoke Guake (F12 is
default). Produce enough terminal output to fill more than one page (i.e. to
ensure scrollbar will be visible). Note scrollbar is not accessible on right
hand side of screen.
Also, run a command in the terminal that produces right justified output (such
as re-starting a service like apache2, which generally outputs a
right-justified [OK]). Note output is not visible or partly off the screen.
Note, I understand the bug may be with Guake but thought Unity would be
the best spot to initiate it, as this bug is not present when a Classic
Desktop session is used.
