Public bug reported:

I installed Ubuntu 10.10 on Acer Extensa 5235 with Celeron Dual-Core
2GHz. After login into Gnome it shows this alert:

CPU frequency scaling unsupported

I tried
sudo modprobe p4_clockmod
FATAL: Error inserting p4_clockmod
(/lib/modules/2.6.35-23-generic/kernel/arch/x86/kernel/cpu/cpufreq/p4-clockmod.ko):
 No such device

I tried to install cpudyn, cpufreqd, powernowd. All packages returned an
error message that the CPU is unsupported.

Is there any way how to activate frequency scaling for this CPU?

Here is the output of /proc/cpuinfo
