Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gvfs

After connecting my camera (Canon EOS 550D) to the computer using the
USB-cable, GNOME mounts the camera and I try to copy a large (1.8 gig)
movie from the camera to the computer. This results in a "Error getting
file: -1:Unspecified error".

Copying the file via the terminal using gphoto2 --shell combined with
the get command works fine.
