Yesterday there were updates! I applied them via the update manager on my Xubuntu 10.10 upgraded from 10.04, my clean installed Xubuntu 10.10 and my clean installed Ubuntu 10.10. In all three cases the updates were still in /var/cache/apt/archives afterwards ...
