to officially support your card.
So what do we have: X works with the fglrx driver, but doesn't do
accelerated 3D, and restricted-manager does not show it as 'in use'.
Correct? This would happen if the fglrx kernel module is not loaded.
Please confirm that
lsmod | grep fglrx
does not output anything.
What do the following commands show?
dpkg -l 'linux-restricted-modules*'
sudo modprobe fglrx
