I noticed there was a new BIOS, so I upgraded (old version: 202 new version: 203).
I don't see any difference in behaviour; to recap, with USB ports enabled, suspend fails since it can't suspend the usb3 device, with USB ports disabled, suspend just hangs and the machine locks up (no kernel panic; caps/numlock not blinking). However, I did retry with no_console_suspend, plus I removed "quiet" from the kernel cmdline, and added "verbose", and finally ran "sudo dmesg -n 8" before attempting suspend. With all that, I do see some kernel spew during suspend. It is attached as comment_6.jpg. It doesn't offer me any real clue, since there are no error messages that I can see, but at least it should point out where the hang is happening. ** Attachment added: "comment_6.jpg" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/695249/+attachment/1784319/+files/comment_6.jpg -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/695249 Title: ASUS G73JW fails to suspend or hibernate: "pm_op(): usb_dev_suspend+0x0/0x20 returns -2" -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
