Hi, The other day there was a quirk called sony_vaio_gpio2 applied upstream that seemed to have helped people with only one speaker working. So try the following: 1) uninstalling the dkms package at http://people.canonical.com/~diwic/temp/alsa-intel-hda-diwic-dkms_1.0.23.diwic_all.deb (if installed) 2) https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Audio/InstallingLinuxAlsaDriverModules 3) reboot and test
