I've reported a bug about outdated and buggy PlayOnLinux packages in official Ubuntu repositories, see bug #699765 Could you see if PlayOnLinux installer hanging problem is fixed in latest PlayOnLinux version (3.8.8) and write a comment at bug #699765 if problem is fixed?
