OK, same problem here (on a friend's computer who switched to Ubuntu and wants to read her homemade video DVDs).
Well it appears that the mount itself doesn't fail, but it sets strange file permissions: if I do ls -l in /media here is what I get: dr-------- 3 celine celine 88 2008-02-29 16:23 DVD_VIDEO_RECORDER So as you can see the directory DVD_VIDEO_RECORDER is set to "400" which mean it is not possible to get inside. And if I try to manually chmod +x I get a message saying "read-only file system" (translated from French). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/493360 Title: Recorded DVD-R Won't Mount (karmic, lucid) -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
