Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.24-28-generic
When a 2T Hitachi HDS722020ALA330 disk is attached to Silicon Image
PCI-E sil3132 controller partition table is overwritten with zeroes
(verified by reading disk attached to a different controller) at every
boot. 750G WD WD7501AALS-0 disk attached to the same controller works
fine, and until recently this controller worked with two 750G disks
forming a part of md RAID, 2T disks also works fine when attached to
motherboard SATA. Tried two sil3132-based controllers by different
manufacturers and at least two 2T Hitachi disks - problem persists. Logs
are not clean, but I see nothing too suspicious - INIT_DEV_PARAMS fails
on both disks, spurious interrupt seems to clear itself and as for HPA
resize, I get this message on all 2T disks including those attached to
the motherboard SATA and functioning normally - I kept this part of the
log after the blank line.
