Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: synaptic

Synaptic always looks in the wrong place for a CD repository:

"Please insert the disc labelled:
Ubuntu 10.10 _Maverick Meerkat_ - Release amd64 (20101007)
in drive /media/cdrom/"

Thanks to whatever Ubuntu have changed in the last few versions, the
media is never mounted in this location anymore. I don't know if it is
possible to bring this location back as the mount now depends on the
volume name of a mounted drive.

However, a fix might be to allow Synaptic to look in the correct place,
rather than have it hard-coded to look in the wrong place all the time.
(So long as it remember the location and doesn't have to ask for every
package).

I'd be surprised if this has not already been filed but I cannot find a
bug report if it has.
