Which version of Ubuntu are you using? AFAIK your printer was supported
for the first time in Ubuntu Maverick (10.10).
Can you run the following commands in a terminal window and post the
output here:
lpinfo -v
sudo /usr/lib/cups/backend/usb
lpinfo -m | grep -i 'Deskjet 2050'
lpinfo -m | grep -i 'Deskjet 2000'
** Changed in: hplip (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
