Had the same problem. I restored the default KDE configuration as describled in the Kubuntu FAQ (http://www.kubuntu.org/faq.php#konqueror), sudo cp /usr/share/apps/konqueror/konqueror-orig.rc /usr/share/apps/konqueror/konqueror.rc
