I suspect this is still an issue, but I would have to move hardware around of which I'm reluctant to do. If I remember correctly, the main issue with this driver is that the firmware is incorrect, the other bugs seem to be derived from that.
As a note, I doubt that this is an ubuntu bug, rather than being more of a kernel upstream bug.
