Thanks for reopening this issue. I don't think activating apport-collect was much use since I rejected the access request. I found information about how apport-collect works when diagnosing a program crash, but I didn't find anything about its use in diagnosing a persistent memory leak. What exactly am I enabling when I give this program greater permissions?
